- Location data: With your permission, we access your location to unlock postcards when you visit new places. This data is processed on your device and only shared with our servers when you choose to save a postcard.
- Account information: Your email address and display name if you create an account.
- Your postcards: The places you've saved, photos you've added, and notes you've written.
- Usage data: Anonymous analytics to help us understand how people use Maple and make it better.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Unlock postcards when you visit new locations
- Sync your postcard collection across your devices
- Show you recommendations based on places other travelers have loved
- Send you occasional updates about Maple (only if you opt in)
- Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns
What We Don't Do
We believe in keeping things simple and respectful:

Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Postcards and photos are synced via encrypted connections and stored on secure cloud servers. We retain your data for as long as you have an account with us.
You can export or delete all your data at any time from within the app settings.
Your Choices
You're in control of your data:
- Location access: You can revoke location permissions anytime in your device settings. The app will still work, but you won't be able to unlock new postcards.
- Account deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from the app settings.
- Data export: Download all your postcards and data in a portable format.
- Marketing emails: Unsubscribe anytime with one click.

Maple uses the following third-party services:
- Apple MapKit: To display maps and location information
- Cloud hosting: To securely store and sync your data
- Analytics: Privacy-focused analytics to understand app usage (no personal data shared)
