Frequently Asked Questions

Postcards unlock when you're within range of a recognized location. Here are a few things to check:

  • Make sure location permissions are set to "Always" or "While Using" in your device settings
  • Check that you have an internet connection — postcards need to verify your location
  • Try opening the app while at the location; sometimes a refresh helps
  • Very new or small venues may not be in our database yet — let us know and we can add them!

Sync issues are usually quick to fix:

  • Ensure you're signed into the same account on both devices
  • Pull down on the main screen to force a refresh
  • Check that iCloud sync is enabled in your device's Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud
  • If all else fails, try signing out and back in

Changes can take a few minutes to appear on other devices.

We're sad to see you go, but we make it easy:

  1. Open Maple and go to Settings (gear icon)
  2. Scroll down and tap "Account"
  3. Select "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your choice

This permanently deletes all your postcards, photos, and account information. We recommend exporting your data first if you want to keep your memories.

Yes! Your data is yours to keep:

  1. Go to Settings → Account → Export Data
  2. Choose what to include (postcards, photos, notes)
  3. Tap "Create Export"
  4. You'll receive a download link via email within a few minutes

Your export includes high-resolution images and all metadata in a portable format.

Recommendations show you places that other Maple travelers have loved. When you save a postcard and mark a place as a favorite (tap the heart), it helps others discover great spots too.

Recommendations are based on aggregate favorites — we never share who specifically liked a place.

Not yet, but we're working on it! Maple is currently available for iPhone and iPad. Sign up for our newsletter on the homepage to be notified when the Android version launches.

Partially! You can always view your existing postcards offline. However, unlocking new postcards requires an internet connection to verify your location. Any postcards you unlock will sync once you're back online.
