Agreement to Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Maple ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with any part of these terms, please don't use the App.
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Using Maple
Maple is a personal travel journal app that lets you collect digital postcards from places you visit. To use Maple, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country to use apps)
- Provide accurate information when creating an account
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Use the App only for its intended purpose
You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you create in Maple, including photos, notes, and other personal data ("Your Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and sync Your Content across your devices
- Display Your Content back to you within the App
- Create backups to protect against data loss
We will never sell Your Content or use it for purposes other than providing and improving the service. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Acceptable Use
We want Maple to be a positive experience for everyone. You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Use automated systems or bots to access the App
- Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions
Recommendations & Community Features
Maple may show you recommendations based on places other users have favorited. By marking a place as a favorite:
- You contribute anonymously to our recommendation system
- Your identity is never shared — only aggregate data is used
- You can opt out of contributing to recommendations in Settings
Recommendations are provided as-is. We don't guarantee the accuracy, safety, or quality of any recommended location.
Intellectual Property
The Maple app, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.
The postcard designs and artwork within the App are for personal use only and may not be reproduced commercially.
Service Availability
We strive to keep Maple available 24/7, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance (we'll try to notify you in advance)
- Unexpected technical issues
- Circumstances beyond our control
We're not liable for any inconvenience or loss caused by service interruptions.
Account Termination
You can delete your account at any time through the App settings. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in harmful behavior.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
Maple is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't warrant that:
- The App will meet your specific requirements
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Any information provided through the App is accurate
- Recommended locations are safe or suitable for you
Always use your own judgment when visiting new places and follow local laws and guidelines.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Maple. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from visiting locations discovered through the App.
Our total liability for any claims related to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local law requires otherwise.
